A treat for music lovers

A five-day-long music festival organized by the Hyderabad-based Nada Tarangam Trust will begin from September 14 at Keyes High School, Secunderabad. It will begin with a vocal performance by Manda Sudha Rani of Visakhapatnam, accompanied by Venkata Krishna on violin and K. Sadguru Charan on mridangam. On Tuesday, audiences will enjoy a concert by Neyveli R. Santhana Gopalan from Chennai, accompanied by R. Dinakar, L.V.V. Iyer and N. Somayajulu on violin, mridangam and ghatam respectively. Before the start of the concert, violin maestro Annavarapu Ramaswamy will be felicitated with the title ‘Violin Ratna’. September 16 will feature Vasantha Subbalakshmi of Hyderabad, with O. Rajasekhar on the violin and Kapa Srinivasa Rao on the mridangam. On Thursday, musical showers will be provided by the popular violin maestros Ganesh and Kumaresh from Chennai with V.V. Ramanamurthy on mridangam. The festival will conclude on September 18 with a concert by Malladi Brothers (Sriram Prasad and Ravikumar) with Dwaram Satyanarayan Rao on violin and M.L.N. Raju on mridangam. Entry will be free, said a press release.
