Siddharth-Shruti Haasan Telugu fantasy being produced by Disney

Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, known for American animation films has entered movie production in Telugu Cinema. The Walt Disney Company India announced a Telugu movie with Siddharth and Shruthi in lead roles.
 
Disney will partly produce Siddharth, Sruthi Hassan’s fantasy movie which is being directed by Prakash. Siddhartha is playing the super hero in the movie and there is also a 11 kid involved in the story and so the Disney is interested in the movie.Lakshmi Manchu is also playing an important role in the movie. The movie is getting ready to hit screens next year 2011.

Samantha finalized for Mahesh next film

Samantha has become the most preferred actress for all the heroes of tollywood after her debut film ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ opposite Naga Chaitanya had hit the big screens.She has already signed jr NTR Brindhavanam and she has signed one more big project opposite Mahesh Babu.
 
The movie will be produced by Majula under the banner ‘Indira Productions Pvt Ltd’. This will be her second project under this banner. More details of this film are awaited.

Varun Sandesh is now basking in the success of his second film Kotha Bangaru Lokam The film is a hit and is now racing towards the 100 days mark.Varun Sandesh next film would be titled as ‘Vennello lo Varsham’.‘Oye’ fame Anand Ranga is directing this film, produced by Mahi under Moon water pictures.
 
The story is in the final phases of discussion and might hit the production after summer.

Shivaji’s "Taj Mahal" Releasing Poster

Sivaji’s debut film as a producer is all set to hit the screens on 20th March finally. The film was initially set to release in December but due to the Telangana agitations it has been delayed.
 
This film is a remake of a Kannada film titled ‘Taj Mahal’. Shruti a new debutante is pairing with sivaji. This film is being directed by Arun Singaraju,Hero Shivaji is producing this film under ‘Sri Sivaji Productions’ banner. Abhiyan has composed the music for this film.

NTR National Award for Jamuna

For her services to the film industry,Veteran actress Jamuna got the NTR National Film Award for the year 2008. Yester year actor and director Vijaya Nirmala will be honoured with the Raghupathi Venkaiah Film Award.Director KB Tilak got the BN Reddy Film National Award, while well-known producer and Prasad Labs owner A Ramesh Prasad got the Nagireddy and Chakrapani National Film Award.
 
These awards will be presented at the Nandi Awards- 2008 ceremony to be held at Lalitha Kalathoranam on March 16 on the occasion of Telugu New YearUgadi. Chief Minister K Rosaiah will be coming as chief guest to this function and he will felicitate actress Jamuna. A five-member committee led by film producer G Adisheshagiri Rao presented the list of winners of the prestigious national awards to Chief Minister K Rosaiah at his camp office.

Shilpa Shetty to launch club ‘Royalty’ in Mumbai

Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty, who is also the co-owner of IPL team - Rajasthan Royals, has announced her latest business venture on celebs’ favourite micro-blogging site Twitter. The actress has revealed that she’s all set to open a new club called ‘Royalty’ in uptown Mumbai with her businessman husband Raj Kundra.
 
Shilpa’s latest post on Twitter reads: “Okay guys this is the news. Our newest venture is Royalty - the newest club in town, nearly ready, have been busy with that, so happy nearly done.”
 
“You heard it here first as promised. Having our first party here after the Rajasthan Royals match, hope we win…more reason to celebrate,” she adds.
 
Buzz has it that the happily married couple has already bought ‘Poison’, a club in Bandra, and plan to re-open it by the name ‘Royalty’.

Aamir on a break till 2012

When it comes to planning a filmi career, no one knows it better than Aamir Khan.
 
Many of our B-town beauties would hit the panic button if they didn’t have atleast one movie in hand, and even sign up for mediocre projects in desperation (no faults of theirs, blame it on the rat-race). But this Khan man has a strange way of planning his career. Well, call him an idiot if you please, we think he’d love that too. After enjoying one of the biggest successes of Indian cinema, Aamir has pulled the brakes on his career. Currently he is only focussed on his wife’s directorial debut, Dhobhi Ghat, and his next production Peepli Live. Soon after that all his attention will be on nephew, Imran’s Delhi Belly. So dearies, chances are that we won’t be seeing AK in a full-fledged role till 2012. Hmmm… suddenly ‘all izz not well’ with your fans, AK. C’mon, you can’t do this to them, yaar.

Priyanka Chopra banned from using Twitter

Priyanka Chopra’s Twitter obsession has been curbed. And it’s all owing to her latest film producer Sajid Nadiadwala who has banned the actress from posting any kind of information on the social networking site.
 
So while most filmmakers are still looking for ways to approach their actors on the issue, Nadiadwala has taken stringent steps to assure that no member of the cast or the crew will leak any kind of details about his project ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ on any networking site.
 
The producer took the strict decision after he saw a constant inflow of pictures and information being put up on the said site. And with his both lead actors Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor being active users of the site, Sajid had little choice but to impose his will.
 
Confirming the news, Sajid told a daily, “I actually took the decision to forbid my cast and crew from putting any information on websites after an incident that happened with Sajid Khan, my director of ‘Housefull’. We were doing a photo-session with the film’s stars. We weren’t even finished and Sajid Khan had already put one of the pictures on the site. I was horrified. That’s when I decided it was time to make the confidentiality clause a legal issue in all my contracts.”
 
Regretting the lack of privacy among stars, Sajid further added, “I remember when my father produced JP Dutta’s Ghulami, we’d stand outside Dharmendra’s van for hours waiting for him to emerge so we could see what he wore, how he styled his hair, what watch he had on, etc. Today the stars volunteer all this information on the social networks even before the director takes his first shot. I think all of us need to make confidentiality compulsory for every film."
 
Well, looks like Piggy Chops will have all work and no play on this one!

Big B to promote Kerala tourism

Amitabh Bachchan has accepted Kerala’s request to become the state’s brand ambassador to promote tourism, state Tourism Minister, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said Thursday.
 
As soon as Big B expressed his willingness to become a brand ambassador to promote Kerala tourism last month, a letter to this effect was written to him, Balakrishnan added. "Yesterday (Wednesday) I got his letter stating that he is willing to become the brandambassador and for that he is prepared to start a dialogue. I have asked the tourism director to have a discussion to this effect," said Balakrishnan.
 
Big B was in the state for a few functions last month. It was then, during an interview to a TV channel, that the actor said he would gladly accept the offer to become Keralatourism’s brand ambassador.
 
" I tried to get in touch with him, but I was told he was out of station. The government is willing to go ahead with him and the final decision to this effect will be made after knowing all the conditions he puts forward," said (IANS)

Puppies in Paathshaala!

Who would’ve imagined that a one-minute scene with tiny, harmless puppies would require a whole day of hard work?
 
That’s exactly what happened on the sets of Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Paathshaala’, where a shoot for a 1 minute clip involving small kids and some puppies turned into a picnic of sorts for the cast and crew!
 
The scene involved a child actor who is playing with some puppies in the school premises, while Shahid and the other kids look on. The crew assembled a few puppies, played with them for a while to get them familiar and even fed them well to get their attention. However, just as everything was ready and the Director all set to take the shot, the puppies would fall asleep, leaving the team in a lurch. After a while, Shahid and the kids would again feed the dogs, play with them to get them into action, and just when they’d be ready for the shot, the puppies would run away, scattering in all directions!
 
This repeated a couple times, and it finally took a whole long day to get the desired shot. Meanwhile, Shahid and the kids had a field day, playing all the while with the cute puppies.
 
Talking about the incident, Director Milind Ukey said, “It was a really funny situation we faced that day. We’d never imagined that such a small thing would require so much struggle! But in the end, everyone, especially the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was all worth it”

Sridevi painting goes international

Sridevi’s newly developed passion for painting has gone international. Her painting Thoughts has been accepted by a reputed international art auction house. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to Sridevi’s favorite charity. At the moment, Sridevi is in unwilling to talk about her passion for painting. However, her husband, Boney Kapoor confirms the news and says, “Yes, Sri’s painting has been accepted for an auction by a well-known international art house. The auction will take place in April and all the money that Sri gets from it will be donated.” Incidentally, this is the first time that the now reclusive actress has made her paintings public.
 
Boney says his wife spends 4-5 hours a day painting. “It is generally in the evening. After she has finished with household duties and is done with our daughters’ homework, Sri locks herself away to paint,” adds Boney. “After me and the kids, painting is her main passion. Now her paintings have reached a level of professionalism where they can fetch a handsome price.” Where does this new passion leave Sridevi’s plans to return to acting? Boney replies, “Sri has been acting since the age of four. She is the only child artiste to have reached the number one position in Hindi films. She will return to acting only when something special comes her way.”

Sonu Sood injured while on shoot

Sonu Sood’s pride — his long Punjabi naak — stands fractured today not in one, but two places! The actor was shooting the climax fight scene with Salman Khan in Wai for his film Dabbang. But a kick on his nose left Sonu bleeding. “A fight master, while showing Salman how to beat me up, jumped from a height and hit me on the nose leaving me bleeding. I was rushed to a hospital with two fractures,” said Sonu.
 
He was told to return to Mumbai. But the actor decided not to and within 48 hours was back shooting, because if he had left, around 500 artists including Salman would be stuck doing nothing on the set. Sonu meanwhile is surviving on painkillers and with padding inside his nose. The pain he can cope with, what is worrying him more is whether the swelling will show on screen. Actually he need not worry… the computer today is like part of the cast and crew and can perform just as well!

Salman Khan’s new passion

Investing in properties seems to be Salman Khan’s latest passion. The Veer star has recently bought a spacious office at Mumbai’s plush Linking road in Khar. The actor will conduct all professional meetings in his new office and operate from there from now on. Apparently Sallu even has plans to venture into the real estate development business soon.
 
“Salman wants to pursue diverse interests. And getting into the construction and real estate business is on his agenda. In fact, he has already zeroed in on a site in Borivali, a suburb in Mumbai. Along with his partners, the actor plans to construct a residential complex there. Sohail, Arbaaz and Atul Agnihotri are all a part of this venture,” said a source.
 
Not too long ago, Salman Khan invested in a plush duplex apartment on Carter Road in Bandra. The interiors of the apartment are being done up now.

Arjun, John to act with Frieda Pinto

According to the latest buzz, Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal and John Abraham will share screen space with Slumdog Millionaire fame Frieda Pinto. A Hollywood production house has approached the actors for a crime thriller. Director Andy Armstong along with writer Kevin D. Ward and cinematographer Joao Fernandes of Conversations With God will make this film for Edge Filmworks.
 
The film is a dark comedy and will be shot entirely in Florida, USA. It will have other Hollywood actors and actresses too. The film will speak about underworld, politics, crime, stealing and has a tagline, “Betrayal is a contact sport…”
 
It will go on floor soon and expected to release on February 2011.
