Gauthami to direct Kamal Hassan?

If the sources are to be believed on the big news that Kamal Hassan has finally roped in his mentor K. Balachandar to act in his film. This film to be scripted by Kamal will be produced by his home banner Raaj Kamal Films. There were rumors that the film will be directed by will be none other than actress Gauthami, who shares a special relationship with Kamal Hassan and has been his associate in different capacities in all his films.
 
However, when contacted, Gauthami said, “I can’t think of such things. I have a long way to go and prove myself in film making. And that too KB sir? I can’t even imagine it!” Madhavan is said to be playing the central character in the untitled movie and Shruthi Hassan is said to be composing the tracks for the film.

Big B’s 13-minute scene in one take

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has perfected the art of acting, went a step further this time while shooting for his upcoming movie Rann, when he completed a 13-minute-long scene in a single take, flooring the film unit and crew present there.
 
According to sources, the actor shot the 13-minute monologue, perhaps the longest his career, in one take.
 
"It was instantly done in the first take itself. The crew was astonished and claps were heard much after the scene was over," sources said.
 
They also recalled an intense scene shot by the actor in the RGV movie, where Bachchan could not help but feel the pain of the character and his eyes welled up with tears.
 
Also, he always insists that Hindi dialogues be written in Devnagiri script, they said.
 
The Bollywood icon plays Vijay Harshvardhan Malik, a media baron in the film which is a take on the functioning of the media.

Magadheera 100 days function cancelled

Telugu Cinema Industry’s biggest ever hit , Magadheera’s 100 days function was planned to be celebrated at Gachibowli Stadium in hyderabad this week but now due to recent attacks on movie units by TRS activists and also due to volatile situation in state, producer Allu Aravind has decided to cancel the 100 days celebrations.
Movie Artists Association(MAA) has condemned the recent attacks on movie units shooting around hyderabad and submitted a request to home minister asking for police protection to their movie outdoor shootings.
This is indeed a sad news for megafans who wanted to celebrate this event in big way.

Chiranjeevi’s 150th movie with Ramcharan as Co-Star

Right now Chiranjeevi is busy touring andhra and rayalaseema areas but Chiru is also pulling out his time to complete his 150th movie.
Chiru is willing to do this project in his own production and desires to act with his son Ram Charan in the same movie.
Allu Arvind replied in a positive manner and said project will definitely take place but not that sooner.
Soon there would be a treat by Megastar and Ram Charan.
This is expected to start in late 2010 and release in mid 2011.

Ramcharan Teja’s ORANGE movie has completed its first schedule in mumbai and the unit returned to hyderabad.
They will return to mumbai in january 1st week.
Genelia is playing main heroine and many speculations are on about second heroine of this movie.
Kriti Khabanda, Shruti Hassan, Shammu and now Shazahn Padamsee is being considered for this role.
She is daughter of famous theater personality Alyque Padamsee and pop diva Sharon Prabhakar.
Shazahn Padamsee was recently seen as heroine in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rocket Singh movie.
Orange unit are expected to fly to australia in february for a 3 month schedule.
Movie is planned for july 2010 release.

Orange is pakka Mass movie

The producer of Orange movie, Nagababu says that Ram charan’s orange movie is going to be a pakka mass movie. The regular shooting of this movie is going in Mumbai. The other schedule of Orange will takes place from 23rd in hyderabad. Bommarillu Bhaskar is directing the film.
 
From January 10th, the other schedule will starts in Sydney, Australia. The producer also says that the movie consists of sentiment, Family Emotions and Entertainment. Jenelia is pairing with Ram charan. The tunes is given by Harris Jayaraj. Editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh.

Big dreams of ‘Josh’ Karthika

Remember actress Karthika… she’s none other than the daughter of yesteryear ace actress Radha. Karthika made her debut with Telugu movie ‘Josh’. Though, the film wasn’t a great hit at the box office, but still the young actress has been receiving some good offers from Tollywood.
 
But now, closer sources reveal that Karthika is keen about making her debut in Tamil film industry. We hear, the belle is disappointed that she hasn’t been approached with better films. A clipping from Josh flashed on the monitor during the audio-visual round in the grand finalé of Dadagiri Unlimited when suddenly, the crowd started cheering as if marking the grand entry of the “special guest” for the evening.
 
But, ‘bade bade deshon mein aise chhoti chhoti galtiyan hoti rehti hai’. Shah Rukh ‘Don’ Khan was yet to touch base at Mohun Bagan Athletic Club. Akhir, Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hai.
 
And then around 9.30 pm, there he was. Sporting a grey blazer, black tee and his red-framed glasses, the Badshah’s presence on the grounds needed no confirmation. A laser display and fireworks later, Kolkata was finally ready for some firebrand entertainment from King Khan. “Thank you very much, thanks a lot,” said Khan to the Kolkata crowd as pleasantries were exchanged between Dada and Badshah.
 
As for Shah Rukh, he took just five minutes to flaunt a natural and no gel look. He too was happy with the result.”
 
And so were the crowd as they savoured the best of the googlies between the Titans. While Sourav’s one, “Jitna dekhta hai, admi hansta hai aur jab nahi dekhta hai, toh aansu peetein hai” had SRK requesting, “Make it easier or I’ll look dumb”, Badshah’s teaser soon after, “There is a truck. Deepika Padukone joins the crore club

Deepika Padukone has emerged as Bollywood’s dark horse in the ad world during 2009, doubling her take-home compared to what she was worth in 2007-2008.
 
According to media analysts and brand equity watchers, Deepika is much sought after in both premium and mass brands, right from high-end watches, airlines, clotheslines and even chewing gum.
 
According to industry estimates, from a time when she was charging around Rs 60 lakh for an endorsement.
 
Deepika now demands almost Rs 1.5 crore per ad, hot on the heels of Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif (both around Rs2 crore an ad) and Priyanka Chopra (Rs1.5–2 crore).
 
Veteran market analyst Harish Bijoor says it comes as "no surprise" that Deepika’s equity has doubled.
 
"If you look at the endorsements she has signed, she has been a front runner in landing many leading mass brands. With a few premium brands also signing her up, she’s closely competing with the top league of Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. However, none of them is even close to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the premium and high-end category."
 
When contacted, Deepika said that endorsements are basically about versatility of image. "I think what made people accept me is that I can be glamourous and also the girl-next-door. I have heard this from people who have approached me with campaigns and endorsement offers. I have worked really hard to get what I’m getting. I’m very passionate about movies and my constant effort is to outdo myself and challenge my acting skills. I’m happy with what I have got — but this isn’t enough," she says.
 
So what does she think about the other big three — Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra? "I just love how Kareena carries herself. She is extremely graceful. I think Katrina is very hard working and that is a big reason behind her success. Priyanka has shown how versatile she can be and done some very good work recently," said Deepika, who has five back-to-back films releasing in 2010.

My character in Ishqiya oozes sensuality

After playing an ideal mother in Paa, Vidya Balan says she is ready to surprise audiences with a completely different avatar in forthcoming movie Ishqiya. She will be seen as a conniving, scheming woman in Vishal Bharadwaj’s dark drama.
 
"For the first time I’ll be playing a woman who is conniving, scheming and in whom there is a sexual aggression," said Vidya in an interview.
 
"She is an aggressive person. She is someone who is unapologetic about her own choices. Bold is the word I’ll use for the lack of a better word. In the Indian context, she would be Rambha, Durga or Kali. She is someone who is dressed from top to toe but oozes sensuality," the actress said.
 
Set in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Ishqiya is a tale of romance between individuals caught in a web of crime, suspense, passion and deceit. Made by first time director Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Bharadwaj, the film also stars Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.
 
In the film, Vidya sports a deglamourised look and mouths expletives.
 
"Of course Vishal comes with a certain brand and credibility…but more importantly I loved the role offered to me. I wouldn’t have given it up. Along with that I loved Abhishek’s passion and sensibility. So it was a combination of all these things when I made my decision."
 
The 31-year-old is also looking forward to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Chenaab Gandhi in which she plays Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter.
 
After receiving flak for doing glamorous roles, Vidya has moved to author-backed characters in Paa, Chenaab Gandhi and Ishqiya. But she says her choice of roles is not a conscious effort to change her image.
 
"It’s not a conscious decision to try and stay away from a particular kind of roles. There is no effort for an image change. It’s just that I’m just being offered a lot of exciting work and I’ve tried to pick and choose different things to keep it very exciting for me," she said.
 
Vidya has earlier been seen in films like Parineeta, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Kismat Konnection.(IANS)

Maro Charitra having great Icon

Dil Raju is making a film with Varun Sandesh in the lead, titled Maro Charithra. It is an adaptation of K Balachandar’s legendary film with the same title. The flash news is that Kamal Hasan is going to act in this movie. The film is directed by Ravi Yadav, who is also handling the camera.  Mickey J Meyer is scoring the music again for varun sandesh. Previously he has scored to him for Kotha Bangaru Lokam.
 
The film has got to the brisk stage and it is definitely running down to great expectations.Marthand K Venkatesh is said to be the editor of this film. The movie is going to release in January.

Surya’s brother in Telugu

The Tamil actor surya is well known to the film industry. His movie Gajini had maked a lot of fans to him. Now his brother, Karthik is going to enter into the tollywood industry with his dubbed film which was directed by Sri Raghava of 7/G Brindavan Colony fame. The film will release for the Pongal of 2010 in Tamil and Telugu. The Telugu title is yet to be finalised and Reema sen is acting opposite to him. Andrea Jeremiah is another cast.
 
The film was produced by Ravindran, the film will be brought by G Kumar Babu of Amma Art Creations for release in Telugu.

Sachin Tendulkar to promote ‘3 Idiots’

You can always trust superstar Aamir Khan to come up with novel ways to promote his films and this time he has roped in ’Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar to endorse 3 Idiots.
 
Aamir, who has put on a disappearing act as part of the promotion strategy of the film, met the cricket icon three days ago and left a clue about his whereabouts with him.
 
"I don’t know anything more than this," Sachin said and read out the clue in Hindi , "Kahan jaoon kaise jaoon, itne sawal kaise suljaoon, kabhi to sochoon main udd jaoon. Kabhi sadak pe car bhagaoon, ya chuk chuk gaadi ko aazmaoon, chahe main jaise bhi jaoon, maa ke aangan mein raat bitaoon."
 
This is the first of the seven clues Aamir is giving to the media and his fans to search him out while he travels to seven cities in disguise, spending one or two days in each.
 
Sachin, who watched the film at Ketnav studios in suburban Bandra along with his wife Anjali and friends including cricketer Ajit Agarkar, told reporters that he loved the film.
 
"It has every thing from comedy to romance and I was reminded of my naughty days as a youngster," he said. ’3 Idiots’, releasing on December 25, has 44-year-old Aamir playing a 22-year-old engineering student along with actors Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. Kareena Kapoor is the female lead.(PTI)

Salman-Prabhu: Happy feet

Earlier this month, Salman Khan engaged India’s most versatile dancer Prabhu Devaa in a jugalbandi at a Dubai concert.
 
The concert had a bevy of beauties — Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia, Celina Jaitley and Mona Singh. And was most imaginatively compered by the inimitable Boman Irani. However, it is the two men — Sallu and Prabhu who brought the house down with their dance.
 
Prabhu, who directed Salman in Wanted, did a jig to numbers in the Tamil version of the movie, while Sallu matched his dance steps by dancing to songs in Hindi. Those who were at the concert say the house came down literally, with people asking for an encore. And guess what? The two stars even obliged.(TNN)

The famous and sucessful producer Shankar has his own passion making movies. His earlier movie with Tamil Super star Rajinikanth, ’Sivaji’ is a great sucess. One cannot forget that Shankar appeared on “Balley Lakka” song.
 
Sources said that he asked the assistants to arrange him a costume for his film ’Yanthram’. When Rajini heard this, he appreciated shankar and encouraged him to act in a prominent character. The cute looking actor whose next-door-boy looks can make girls go weak in knees is having a hard time in tackling his female fans as a result, Shahid wants extra bodyguards for all his shoots.
 
Recently, while Shahid was shooting with Anushka Sharma for Parmeet Sethi’s untitled flick under YRF banner in Bangkok, a bunch of Indian girls left the shy actor red faced by demanding him to remove his shirt!
 
Talking to a news daily, a source said, "Shahid has a huge female fan following and is constantly mobbed at various places.
 
At times it becomes too risky for him. Not wanting to cause any further problems, the actor has now asked for extra security."
 
"Usually, Shahid also has fans waiting outside his vanity van and they refuse to move till he meets them.
 
This at times hampers the shoot schedule, disturbing not only Shahid but also the film unit. Now, Shahid wants a group of 5-6 bodyguards to be with him on the sets and also whenever he is shooting at an outdoor location where there is a greater risk of fans barging in on the sets," continued the source.
 
However, when contacted YRF, the media conglomerate downplayed the demand for extra security and said, "We haven`t got extra guards for the shoot. YRF does have adequate security for all its shoots at all times. Should an artiste ask for additional security, it will most certainly be provided. However, no additional security has been asked for during this shooting schedule."

‘Rocket Singh…’ to be screened at Dubai film fest

YashRaj Films’ Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year, slated for Dec 11 release in India, has been selected to be screened at the 6th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).
 
The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and helmed by Chak De! India director Shimit Amin, will be part of the Indian cinema section in Out of Competition DIFF programme.
 
"Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year" is the story of a graduate trying to find a balance between the demands of the professional life and his love life.
 
The film festival begins Dec 9 and continues till Dec 16.(IANS)

It’ll be a white Christmas for Ranbir, Priyanka

Director Siddharth Anand is excited about shooting Christmas celebrations in a restricted area of New York City with Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor for his film Anjana Anjanai. And he hopes it will snow when he cans the scenes.
 
If it won’t snow, the carefully-planned concept of the lead pair bringing in Christmas
in New York would fall flat. "Yeah, we’re praying for a white Christmas in New York," said Anand.
 
Cameras are not allowed during the festive season at the world-famous Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, but the film’s producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, has got all the necessary permission to shoot there.
 
"I don’t know how Sajid did it. But he managed the near impossible. Priyanka, Ranbir and I are very excited about itsaid ," said Anand, who had earlier directed films like Salaam Namaste and Bachna Ae Haseeno.
 
"Shooting in downtown New York during Christmas time is completely prohibited. We would be shooting not only in and around New York at Christmas time but also the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, which is the tallest Christmas tree in the world. The tree there is 70 feet tall. That’s equivalent to three storeys of a building," said Anand.
 
Ranbir will dress up as a typical New Yorker for the Christmas celebration sequences.
 
"My wife Mamta is styling Ranbir’s clothes. He’ll be dressed the way New Yorkers from West Village are. Very trendily in jackets, scarves, coats and woollens. We’ll show Ranbir and Priyanka cruising the brightly lit-up streets of NY during Christmas. You’ll see them shopping on camera. And that would be real Christmas shopping," he said.(IANS)

Emraan latest to go the six-pack way

Emraan Hashmi is all set to change his serial kisser image with his upcoming film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai - he will flaunt six-pack abs and will be seen challenging an underworld don.
 
Director Milan Luthria says that he purposely wanted to give Emraan this look.
 
"Emraan has always been the underdog and his character is that of a rebel, a dark horse. I wanted to break his serial kisser image and add shock value to the film," said Luthria.
 
"I chose Emraan and then styled him this way as it was extremely difficult to find a youngster who in levels of intensity could be equal and at same time opposite to that of Ajay Devgn."
 
The film is based on the Mumbai underworld of the seventies and Emraan’s character challenges the underworld don, played by Ajay.
 
"The role in the film demanded a look like this. It’s not just about the six packs, my character had to look physically tough. It was one of the key requirements of the script," Emraan told IANS.
 
The actor, who has done hit films like Murder, Kalyug, Jannat and Raaz - The Mystery Continues, underwent rigorous training and followed a strict diet regime to obtain the sculpted body.
 
Emraan was given Angular training method and the training period was divided into blocks of 10 days.
 
The actor was advised to have five-six meals a day and followed guidelines like consuming fats, which were four and five grams of fish oil for fat loss, walnuts and almonds, carb manipulation for losing fat and maintaining muscle mass and protein intake.
 
Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan went for six-pack for Om Shanti Om and Ghajini respectively. Shahid Kapoor is doing two better — he will show off eight-pack abs in his forthcoming film Chance Pe Dance.
 
Once Upon A Time… also stars Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai and is expected to hit screens in June next year.(IANS)

chiranjeevi tying to slim down by summer 2010Apart from questions raised on his leadership abilities, Chiranjeevi has also faced one more question.
That is about his physique.
These days he look like he lost interest in maintaining his physique and was gaining weight each day.
Now, the megastar seems to have determined to silence his critics and news is that he is on healthy lifestyle. His target is to look smart and in shape from summer 2010 onwards and for this he has been following strict rules on food, doing timely yoga and taking part in aerobics etc.
Some say that this is also for his plans to make a comeback of sorts onto the screen but whether it is movies or not, the mega fans are said to be pleased to see a rather trim and shapely Chiru. Let us hope the summer of 2010 changes the fortunes for the megastar then.
On the other hand in a latest development in PRP, senior leader and former union minister Ch Harirama Jogaiah decided to quit the party on the issue of separate Telangana state.
Party sources said Jogaiah had sent his resignation letter to Chiranjeevi in the morning, stating that he was not happy with the decision of the party to support separate Telangana agitation. Right from the beginning, he had been opposing the division of the state and he did not raise the issue so far because the party had maintained a diplomatic stand on the Telangana issue. “It now appears that the party does not have a clear policy on the Telangana issue and has come out with a pro-Telangana stand succumbing to the pressures from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and a few Congress leaders,” he is learnt to have said.
Sources say the Telangana is not the only reason for Jogaiah to quit the PRP. Ever since the party faced the debacle in the general elections and has been faring badly in the subsequent byelections and the recent GHMC polls, Jogaiah has been totally upset and is worred about his political future. Moreover, Chiranjeevi’s recent comment that some seniors who had been associated with him right from the beginning had stabbed in his back with wrong advice also hurt Jogaiah. Hence, the decision.

'Arya-2' collected 16 crores in first week

Stylish Star Allu Arjun did it again. Desamuduru, Parugu movies turned with divide talk and became money spinners. Same case happened with Arya 2 also.

The movie is started with a divide talk on day 1 but turned out a money spinner now. The movie has collected 16 crores on the first week.

Nizam 4.10 crs, Vizag 1crore even mass areas like Guntur it have managed to collected 80 lakhs highest after Magadheera in this year. Dil Raju distributor of Nizam have lost almost 1 and half crore due to Telangana Bandh for 2 days which turns a major blow in Nizam territory for the film , even it have managed 4.10 crores on the first week. Nizam area is one of the strong hold for Bunny.

A.R. Rahman to act in a Hollywood film

Oscar winner A.R. Rahman (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) for the first time will be seen in front of the camera in upcoming film SON OF A PREACHER MAN, about the life and times of Grammy winning singer-songwriter-producer PJ Morton.
 
Besides Rahman, other cast includes American Gospel musician Kirk Franklin (NORBIT), Grammy nominated American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard (LIFE ON A STICK), and producer Warryn Campbell (STOMP THE YARD). Shot in Atlanta and New Orleans in USA and London in United Kingdom, it will be released in 2010. Michael Akwesi Djaba (REASONABLE EXCUSE) is the director.
 
Rahman and Morton collaborated on Sajna song in recent Hollywood comedy COUPLES RETREAT.
 
Rahman, who has reportedly recorded sales of over 300 million, was called "Mozart of Madras’’ by Time magazine. Rahman sees music "as a way to connect to spirituality and embrace it" and for "creating harmony in troubled times".

Ranbir Kapoor, the new ’It’ boy of Bollywood may have trounced favourites like Shahrukh Khan and John Abraham to be voted the ’Sexiest Man Alive’ by People magazine, but the actor says that he does not consider himself sexy.
 
The 27-year-old actor said that there are "a thousand things" wrong with his face and body and therefore the title is a total surprise.
 
"I really don’t know what sexy is. I am confused as I don’t consider myself sexy. There are a thousand things that are wrong with my face and body," said the actor.
 
Ranbir who will be seen on the cover of the magazine shirtless on a beach, said that he believes in the old adage "handsome is what handsome does".
 
"When I was growing up, my mom told me handsome is what handsome does. So Amitabh Bachchan is sexy to me in all his films, Shahrukh is sexy in DDLJ and Aamir is sexy in Rang De Basanti," said Ranbir.
 
The Wake Up Sid actor said that the best part about the title is that he is now in the same league as Johnny Depp, who won the title internationally this year.
 
"I feel like I’m Johnny Depp," said the actor adding, "I’ve had a good year so I attribute winning this title to those things."(PTI)
