In a repeat of the tragic trend prevalent during his father, Chiranjeevi’s time, a village youth died of electric shock at a Nandikotkur theatre while desperately trying to get tickets for Ramcharan Teja’s Magadheera on Friday night.
Four Chiranjeevi fans died at Rajamundry in 2003 during a mad rush to watch Tagore. Before elections, when the Praja Rajyam chief came to Nandikkottur, in a near stampede one person was killed after part of a building collapsed on him.
The victim of Friday’s mishap, Balaraju, 26, of Lingapuram village of Jupadubangla mandal, came into contact with a live wire during a minor stampede for tickets. The theatre owner, Mr. Veerana, said he would give financial assistance to the victim’s family.
