Magadheera mania in Guntur

Moviegoers and fans who watched one of the biggest movies of the year Magadheera were not disappointed on Friday as the movie lived up to their expectations.

The movie, which was simultaneously released in 11 theatres in Guntur town alone and nearly 70 theatres simultaneously in the district, stirred up a mass mania among youth.

Since morning, surging crowds were seen at all the theatres and youth went about on their bikes flaunting their tickets.

Political colour added spice to the whole show. The photos of MP R. Sambasiva Rao, Mayor R. Mohana Sai Krishna, Congress leaders Vanukuri Srinivasa Reddy were put up near Hollywood-Bollywood multiplex, while former mayor who reportedly booked tickets at Krishna Mahal too obliged partymen.

But die-hard fans of Chiranjeevi were disappointed a bit since most of the tickets for the first day had already been pocketed by Congressmen.

The theatres could witness some hysterical scenes on Saturday as the fans would be expected to throng the theatres. Fans were also felt let down as the district administration ruled out screening of extra shows and each theatre had only four shows.

Meanwhile, amid the tall talk by district administration that black marketing of tickets would be curbed, tickets were sold for excessive amounts outside the counters.
