Shankar Mahadevan feels top of the world

"Though this is the third time I am winning the National Award, I feel as if I have been selected for the honour for the first time," says Shankar Mahadevan. The singer, who has been selected for the honour for the soul-stirring 'Maa...' from 'Taare Zameen Par', says, "National Award cuts across regional boundaries. That's what makes it so special among other ceremonies." On the song, he says, "There is sincerity and honesty in the song which managed to make a big impact among the audience. Prasoon (Joshi) did a great job with the lyrics." Claiming that National Award changes equations in the music industry, he says, "People talk about the victory and the euphoria stays for a long time. But you should move ahead after enjoying the triumph. Because, the show must go on."
