The producer Kalaipuli S.Dhanu who flew in to town with the first copy of Mallanna for censor was shocked to realize that the 3rd reel in the copy was missing and this too was noticed after the screening of the film started. It was stalled for a while and the producer requested the censor board to continue with the projection and that he would show the 3rd reel at the end. The censor board continued with the screening but the producer could not deliver the 3rd reel as it had to be reprinted and flown to Hyderabad before the censor board dispersed. The 3rd reel was finally received by 5PM flight today by which time the preview theatre at Film Development Corporation got busy with the screening of Nandi award films. The producer has requested and is waiting for the theatre to get free so that he could screen the 3rd reel to complete the censor process. It is really is sad when we hear these kind of issues cause delay to the film. We recently wrote about the audio synch issues but it is also a sentiment in the industry that problems before release will give excellent results after release.
