Madhavan will be turning story writer for a Tamil film where he will also play the protagonist. Reportedly, the actor has penned a script and has spoken to GNR Kumaravelan to direct the film. "I knew Madhavan while he was working for his Tamil film Thambi. I was a co-director for the film.
 
Maddy used to keenly watch my work on the sets and appreciate it whenever I gave valuable suggestions. So, when I approached him with a script, he asked me to listen to one which he has been nurturing in his mind for quite some time. He asked if I could direct the movie based on his story. I felt the story suited Madhavan and immediately agreed to work on it," he recalls.
